Bryan Ghows
Managing Director

Bryan is an expert in the business of technology. With nearly 40 years of experience spanning disputes and transactional matters across intellectual property, technology, commercial and data protection law, Bryan has a deep understanding of the management of difficult transactions and disputes in these areas of law.

Praised by clients for his clear, practical advice and his calm and empathetic bedside manner, Bryan’s 15 years of experience working at US technology giants in significant legal and finance roles informs his practice as arbitrator, mediator and counsel. Although many of his clients are from the technology industry, such as those from software development, medical and biotechnology, gaming, social media and blockchain, he also represents a wide variety of large and small clients from other sectors such as fine dining, liquor, apparel, jewellery, automotive and environmental consultancy.

As litigation and arbitration counsel, Bryan has appeared as lead counsel before all levels of the Singapore courts and in arbitrations worldwide (including SIAC, HKIAC and WIPO arbitrations). Complex intellectual property licensing, anti-competition and consumer protection, intellectual property infringement and theft of confidential information and trade secrets are dispute matters he handles regularly.

As arbitrator, he hears cases as a sole, ad hoc and emergency arbitrator, ranging from intellectual property disputes to disputes over the commercialisation of technology. His multi-jurisdictional experience and admissions across Singapore, the USA and England and Wales provide a significant advantage in understanding practices and the law in international arbitration.

Bryan’s busy practice also includes significant experience in advising clients on a wide variety of commercial issues, including licensing and commercialisation of intellectual property and software, data privacy, executive-level employment matters and joint ventures.
