Patsy is an accomplished IP practitioner with about 30 years of legal experience and specialised knowledge across the full IP spectrum as well as broad-based multi-disciplinary experience. She is passionate about brands, designs and innovations, and has a special interest in advancements in technology and medical research.

Patsy is honoured to be featured as one of the top 50 patent lawyers in 15 jurisdictions around Asia and the Pacific. She has been consistently recognised as a leading IP lawyer in publications such as WTR 1000 (The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, 2024), WIPR Leaders (2017-2023), Euromoney’s Expert Guides (various titles, 2004-2022) and Asia IP Experts (2013-2018).

Dual-qualified as an Advocate and Solicitor and a registered Patent Attorney in Singapore, Patsy handles all aspects of IP work, with specialisation in patents and trade marks. She has a deep appreciation of the different branches of IP law, and is known to be meticulous and highly personal in her approach. The synergistic combination of her experience and personality presents a highly effective offering to clients – the ability to devise and execute customised legal strategies which have consistently produced optimal results.

Patsy manages a diverse portfolio of patents, designs and trade marks for global market leaders as well as local enterprises She is a trusted counsel to leading industry players which count on her sound and practical advice. Her notable clients include Nippon Steel, BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, Menicon, Kyowa Kirin, Sysmex, Mos Food (MOS BURGER), Jim Thompson, Sivantos and Micromass (Waters Group).

She has served on the ExCo of AIPPI Singapore Group since 2008 and is an active member of the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys (ASPA).

Qualifications:

  • Advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore (called to the Bar in 1994)
  • Registered Patent Attorney in Singapore (2003)
  • Completed and passed SEAD patent drafting course by FICPI (2000)
  • Completed JPO-sponsored IPR training course in Tokyo (2015)
