We, at Ghows LLC, value your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your personal data. This notice explains how we collect, use and disclose your personal data. This notice will be updated from time to time and you are advised to review the notice on a regular basis for any updates or changes.

What is Personal Data?

Personal data refers to any information or data, whether true or not, about an individual/natural person who can be identified (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access to (“Personal Data”).  

Examples of Personal Data that we may collect include your personal identification number, date of birth, residential address, personal email address not used for business purposes, mobile number not used for business purposes, financial information, background information and any other information about you.\

Personal Data excludes “business contact information” as defined in the Personal Data Protection Act (No. 26 of 2012) of Singapore (“PDPA“).

From Whom and Why Do We Collect Personal Data?

Your Personal Data may be collected if you fall within one of the following categories: (a) a potential client, (b) a client, (c) a potential hire, (d) a potential intern or trainee (e) an individual who interacts or makes an enquiry with us and/or (f) individual who accesses or uses our website.

Your Personal Data (if any) may be collected if you use our website, make an enquiry, interact with us through our website, email, instant messaging or offline, or provide us with documents.

We process your Personal Data in order to comply with applicable laws and regulations (such as anti-money laundering/combating the financing of terrorism  ), provide legal services to you, consider your employment with us, respond to your requests or queries, allow you to use our website, maintain security of our premises and technology infrastructure, send you legal updates, invitations to events and other communications that may be of interest to you, maintain a business relationship with you or for other reasonable business or corporate purposes (“Purposes”).

By submitting information or queries to us, engaging our services, working for us, using our website, or interacting and communicating with us, you agree and consent to Ghows LLC (and our agents, authorised representatives, sub-contractors or third-party service providers) collecting, using, processing and/or disclosing your Personal Data in accordance with the limited Purposes.

Who Do We Share Your Personal Data With?

In using your Personal Data, we may disclose the same to third parties in accordance with the limited Purposes. Examples include our court process servers, couriers, associate law firms, printing companies, private investigators, finance, case management and IT vendors and other service providers.

Transfer of your Personal Data Overseas

Where you have engaged us to carry out any work outside Singapore or where our third-party service providers (including the location of our servers) are located overseas, the transfer of your Personal Data outside Singapore to these jurisdictions may be necessary and will be done with care and in accordance with the limited Purposes.

How Do We Protect Your Personal Data?

Your Personal Data may be stored physically in our office and/or on secured computer network servers. We will put in place reasonable security arrangements to ensure that your Personal Data is adequately secured. Appropriate physical, administrative and technological safeguards will be implemented to prevent any unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, leakage, loss, damage and/or alteration of your Personal Data.

We are not responsible for relying on inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data arising from your failure to update us of any changes in a timely manner.

While we endeavor to engage professional service providers to store and/or secure your Personal Data, we cannot assume responsibility for any unauthorized use of your Personal Data by third parties arising out of factors that are beyond our control.

How do we retain and/or destroy your Personal Data?

We will retain your Personal Data in accordance with the laws and regulations or until it no longer serves the limited Purposes.

We will put in place measures such that your Personal Data in our possession or under our control is destroyed and/or anonymized (so that it cannot be associated with you) as soon as it is reasonable to assume that we do not need to retain the Personal Data.
